Multimedia Authoring Tools

This course focused on developing practical skills in multimedia authoring and the design of interactive digital learning experiences. Throughout the course, I explored how text, graphics, audio, video, and interactive components can be strategically combined to enhance learner engagement and support instructional goals. Emphasis was placed on applying multimedia learning principles — particularly those grounded in Mayer's Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning — to the revision and expansion of an existing eLearning project, culminating in a fully redesigned Adobe Captivate course that demonstrates both theoretical alignment and real-world application of multimedia authoring tools and techniques.

Enhancing Police Training with VR

This project is an interactive Adobe Captivate eLearning course that makes an evidence-based case for adopting Virtual Reality training technology at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Learners explore five decades of police training evolution through a learner-driven timeline, discovering why traditional methods have fallen short and why the VirTra V-300 Simulator System is the right solution for a department of CMPD's size and complexity. The course combines interactive timelines, flip cards, hotspots, and tabbed navigation to create an engaging, self-directed learning experience grounded in Mayer's multimedia learning principles.
