This course focused on the design and development of self-paced e-learning modules using the ADDIE instructional design model. Throughout the course, I applied principles of andragogy and learner-centered design to create a fully developed online training module for adult learners with varying levels of technical experience. Emphasis was placed on writing SMART learning objectives, structuring content through effective chunking, designing formative assessments, and building interactive multimedia experiences in Adobe Captivate, culminating in a complete e-learning module titled 'Building Your Website with Wix' that demonstrates both instructional design theory and practical application for real-world adult learners.
Building Your Website with Wix — Self-Paced E-Learning Module
This self-paced module empowers small business owners, freelancers, and marketing students to build and publish their own professional website using the Wix platform, without any prior web design or coding experience. Grounded in adult learning theory, the course centers on a real-world project: learners build their own actual business website as they progress, applying each new skill in a personally meaningful context.
Developed through the full ADDIE instructional design cycle, the module features SMART learning objectives aligned to Bloom's Taxonomy, interactive click-box simulations of the Wix Editor, formative knowledge checks with instant corrective feedback, and professional audio narration. The design emphasizes relevance and autonomy to sustain motivation, with a clean, accessible interface that respects the time constraints of busy adult learners.
